The Problem To Be Solved:

Gloves are a $500 million industry in the US alone. (USA Today article September 5, 2006) They are a part of everyday life for those who live in cold weather climates. At one time or another, while outdoors wearing gloves, they inevitability need to come off in order to do something only your fingertips can do or would make much easier to do.

While fingerless gloves free up the user's fingers to perform these things, the fingers are permanently exposed, causing mild to extreme discomfort, and making them more susceptible to injuries.

Unique Features and Benefits

The exceptional and unique feature of The Convertible Hooded Fingertip Gloves^TM makes it a revolutionary improvement to a staple accessory, as it allows the user to quickly uncover as many individual fingers as needed on each hand to handle any task, and then to easily re-cover the fingers to keep them warm and protected once the task is complete.

On the palm side of each fingertip, depending on the model: 3-fingered or 5-fingered, is an elasticized buttonhole-style opening which enables the wearer to simply pull up at the fingertip of the finger(s) they want to use and 'pop' it out thru the elasticized opening. When they have completed the task at hand they simply reverse the process and their fingers are warm and protected again.

Added benefit is provided by the elasticized opening which helps with grip and control of anything from holding a cup of coffee, the signature board used by delivery personnel or the steering wheel of a car.

Convertible Hooded Fingertip Gloves^TM are an improved alternative to the fingerless glove and a replacement for any casual and light work glove. The Option, Convertible Hooded Fingertip Gloves^TM can be made from a wide variety of materials, including spandex, leather, acrylic knit; pretty much any casual, outdoor, or light work glove you find on the market today. Note: the leather version has an insert added to prevent the leather from permanently stretching. The same insert can be incorporated into a heavier glove. The Option Glove can be made in a 3 or 5 finger version; and can also be sold as a liner to be worn under heavier gloves and mittens.

Target market:

The hundreds of thousands of children, teens, adults, and seniors who live in cold weather climates and need to wear gloves to keep their hands warm. This product should take a large share of the casual and light work glove market.
